Syd and all his brothers.
Oh god I'm so tired right now cause I moved this weekend. Not so far tough but like packing all my shit I had in my room was like hell actually. All the cd's, lp's, books and dvd's I have, I just said: Think how much money I've paid for all this wich just have lied on my shelf for a year, no I've watch some musicdvd's and read some books but just think about it, it's like 100 000 of krones I've paid for all that under so many years. Now I live with my dearest friend Sarah who's have been my best friend since upper secondary school. We now live in a appartment in Hammarbyhöjden 5 min from the t-central with the metro and it have 2 rooms and ktichen, enough for us. It's pretty cramped but it's really cosy tough. My piano and Sarah writingtable is taking all the space from the livingroom, haha. We have already put the christmastree up in the livingroom and it brings so much christmasfeeling. So, now to the music...
I'm still into Neal Morse and his incredible new album "Lifeline" but I need to tell you something new actually. I found a new artist (for me) on Last.fm and her name is "Britta Persson". Typical swedish name and she's doi'n pop in a really interesting way and one song called "Cliffhanger" is really great with unexpected chords and great lyrics. check it out right away!
One other heavy song I've listen alot to this week is a colaboration with Maroon 5 and Rihanna. Unusual for me to like something like Rihanna but her parts in this song really fit in with Adam Levine, the singer. The song is called "If I never see your face again" and it's really heavy then.
THE ALBUM OF THE WEEK:
It must be some nostalgia actually cause everyting around me right now is new so we take something that I've listen too for a long time and the first thing I can remember is Steve Miller band's greatest hits album. All the songs are great and his voice is georgeus! Really slick music with blues influences.
THE SONG OF THE WEEK:
Is a Pink Floyd song I've known for years. "Set the control for the heart of the sun" is the name for it and it's really cosy, you can probably meditate to it. I will say that it's a pretty psychedlic influed song wich is written 1968 and comes with the album "A saucerful of Secrets" wich have many other great songs, but this is special.
Incredible man that Syd.
Love, Lia
Multigenre this month obviously. Pretty indesicive.
Christmasmusic isn't good at all, only when Killers doi'n some awesome tunes to a christmas cd, really great, check it out. What to write this time, I bought a Pink Floyd dvd last week - Live at Pompeii. AWESOME, just all the fucked up stuff really good. They're like high on weed the whole time and I'm not astonished that the music sounds as it does.
Last Wednedsday me and my band I have with Stoff, Fredde and Jimmy played Dio's "Holy Diver" in the studio and it sounded heavy awesome, man! Hope we get some gigs soon so we can rock all people off the chairs! Hehe now to the song of the week:
THE SONG OF THE WEEK IS:
Nina Simone - Sinner Man
God, her voice in that great song wich is 10.20 long. Just lay back and enjoy.
THE CD OF THE WEEK IS:
Neal Morse - Lifeline
a Cd I have in my own collection and I bought it few days ago, HOLY GOD it's so good!!!
Prog/metal is the genra and the only bad thing is that Neal sings damn much about jesus and that jesus is his lifeline but you don't need to listen that much to what he sings the music is so great and he's drummer at that cd is Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater and I can only say that he has made a dreamteam of musicians actually.
Love, Linnéa
